In March of 2001 Shawn Mattoon was certified as an Air Systems Cleaning Specialist (ASCS) through the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA). Air Systems Cleaning Specialist certification signifies a high level of professionalism in the HVAC cleaning industry. Through certification, contractors demonstrate requisite knowledge of HVAC system cleaning, NADCA standards, OSHA regulations and more.
In January of 2003 Shawn Mattoon became Central Washington's only authorized applicator of Aeris Guard™ Anti-Microbial Treatment provided by Aeris Corporation. Aeris Guard™ is an active enzyme agent applied to the evaporator coils of air conditioning systems to inhibit molds, mildews, viruses and bacteria growth. Aeris Guard™ carries an active life of up to18 months with reapplication recommendations of 12 months to ensure proper coverage.
In March of 2005 Shawn Mattoon became Central Washington's first Certified Ventilation Inspector awarded through the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA). Certified HVAC Ventilation Inspectors undergo training based on the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) I-BEAM program, which provides a structured method of doing inspections, in compliance with NADCA's standards and guidelines. The training and certification examination covers applicable building and IAQ standards and codes, maintenance and housekeeping programs, diagnosing IAQ problems and reporting findings to building owners.
